In observance of 2011 World Day of Architecture on October 3, the Committee of WDA under the leadership of Arch. Markel Cesar Luna is inviting all UAP Student Auxiliary Chapters to join the UAP WDA 2011 Logo Design Contest.

GUIDELINES

1. DESCRIPTION

The UAP World Day of Architecture (WDA) 2011 Logo Design Contest aims to produce the official logo of the UAP WDA 2011 to be used in documents & promotional materials pertaining to the WDA 2011 events of the UAP. The World Day of Architecture is celebrated on the first Monday of October, and this year, WDA falls on October 3, 2011, with the theme, “Architecture and Human Rights”. Although only one day is officially slated for this occasion, the months of August and September shall feature WDA activities: a prelude to this international event. Moreover, this contest encourages UAPSA Chapters to be a vital part of the UAP World Day of Architecture celebration.

2. OBJECTIVES

To produce the official UAP WDA 2011 logo that shall incorporate the UAP logo in the design, that shall reflect the theme, to be used in UAP-WDA documents and promotional materials. (The text “World Day of Architecture 2011, Philippines” may or may not be incorporated in the design.)

3. QUALIFICATION

• This contest is open to all UAPSA Chapters.
• UAP Members and those involved in UAP National Committees are not qualified to join the contest.

4. REQUIREMENTS & CONTEST MECHANICS

• Only one entry per UAPSA Chapter is allowed (an individual or team entry).
• The logo entry must be original.
• The logo entry shall incorporate the UAP logo in the design, shall reflect the theme “Architecture and Human Rights”, and the text “World Day of Architecture 2011, Philippines” may or may not be incorporated in the design.
• Each logo entry must be in high resolution pdf format.

5. PRIZE

• Php 5,000 and Certificate for the winning entry (as approved by UAP Secretary General Rey S. Gabitan and UAP-CGEA Executive Director Mohammadsarfraz A. Uttoh).
• The winning UAPSA Chapter has the sole decision on whether to give the prize to the creator/s or to be considered as part of its funds.

6. SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES

• Logo entries in high resolution pdf format shall be submitted with a duly accomplished entry form, which may be hand-delivered (CD & Accomplished entry form in a brown envelope labeled “WDA Logo Design Contest”) to the UAP Headquarters, 5th flr., UAP Building, 53 Sct. • SUBMISSION DEADLINE: August 22, 2011; Monday; 5:00 pm

7. BOARD OF JUDGES/CRITERIA

• The members of the Committee on World Day of Architecture shall act as the Board of Judges (Only one winning entry shall be chosen.).
• The decision of the Board of Judges is final.
• The Criteria are as follows: Creativity, Originality, Adherence to the Theme
• The Winner shall be announced on August 24, 2011.
• The Winner shall be awarded on October 3, 2011, during the World Day of Architecture 2011 celebration at the UAP Headquarters .

8. ACCEPTANCE AND CONFORMITY

The creator/s of the winning logo entry shall agree that it shall be used by UAP for the purposes stated in the Description of the Contest. Should the design require some adjustments and/or minor alterations, UAP shall notify the creator/s.
