UAP earns recognition from Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas

The United Architects of the Philippines receives the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ Special Citation on ACCESSIBILITY in recognition of invaluable support in ASSESSING COMPLIANCE OF BANKS to Batas Pambansa Blg. 344 (BP 344) An Act to Enhance the Mobility of Disabled Persons by Requiring Certain Buildings, Institutions, Establishments and Public Utilities to install Facilities and Other Devices).

The UAP represented by Accessibility Audit for Private Buildings, Chairperson Armand Michael R. Eustaquio Armand Eustaquio and UAP Official Representative to Government Institutions, Arch Ray Clemente Guarnes held at Bangko Sentral BSP Assembly Hall, Cafetorium Building, Malate, Manila

BP 344 is one of the features/scopes included in ARCHITECTURAL PERMIT aside from Percentage of Site Occupancy (PSO), and Conformance to Fire Code of the Philippines (PD 1185). ARCHITECTURAL FACILITIES and other features pursuant to BP 344 requiring certain buildings, institutions, establishments and public utilities to install facilities and other devices).
Where the following features and facilities are: architectural design requirements in accordance with generally accepted architectural practice, the same include the corresponding graphic signs.

The ARCHITECTS designs accessible built-environments for Persons with Disabilities. The built environment shall be designed to allow Persons with Disabilities to participate and contribute to development goals. (Arch. Ray Clemente Guarnes)
