UAP to assist PCAB Public Assistance Desk

The United Architects of the Philippines has been accredited by the Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board (PCAB) to assist the latte's Public Assistance Desk.
In a Board Resolution No. 158, series of 2018, PCAB noted that the UAP has complied with the requirements for PCAB accreditation as follows: (1) The UAP had staff training at the PCAB Secretariat to pre-screen and evaluate applications and to advise applicants on the documentary requirements for licensing, and (2) the UAP has met the following qualifications, first as duly registered entity and in existence for at least five (5) years and have at least fifteen (15) PCAB licensed contractors as members.
The accreditation is in line with PCAB Resolution No. 218, s. 2011 as amended by Resolution No. 314, s. 2011 which provide for the accreditation of contractor's associations and professional organizations to assist the Public Assistance Desk of PCAB.
PCAB, one of the implementing Boards of the Construction Industry Authority of the Philippines (CIAP), an attached agency of the Department of Trade & Industry (DTI) is vested by the provisions of Republic Act No. 4566 (Contractor's License Law) and by Presidential Decree No. 1746 (Creating the CIAP) with the authority to issue, suspend and revoke licenses of contractors, to adopt rules and regulations to effect the classification, categorization, and accreditation of contractors; and to limit the operations of contractors within the bounds of their respective classifications and/or any restrictions as may be imposed by the Board on the respective licenses of the contractors.
